Clinics & Services

 Asthma & COPD Clinic

We offer appointments with our asthma specialist nurse for monitoring symptom control and medication together with support and advice on management according to individual needs. All asthma patients are advised to see the Respiratory Nurse (Cheryl Seymour) for an annual review. From April 2016 we are extending these clinics with aim of improving the service for school age children.  For more information on asthma visit

Blood Clinic

If your doctor or nurse has requested you have a blood test you will be given a morning appointment with a Healthcare Assistant. We offer the first appointments to those patients who are having fasting bloods. Fasting bloods mean you cannot eat or drink, except plenty of water, for 12 hours before your blood test. If you do, then this could produce an inaccurate result, necessitating a re-test.

All blood samples are taken in the morning so they can be collected at 1.00 p.m. and taken to the lab at East Surrey Hospital – this is also the case for urine, stool and sputum samples.

Very few blood tests are clinically urgent and the doctor/nurse will usually give you an indication of the timeframe within which you need to book.  If you feel you are unable to wait for our next available appointment, we can print the blood form so you can take it to the hospital and have your blood test done there. Please ask one of our Medical Receptionists.

Diabetes Clinic

It is important to monitor the progress of diabetes to reduce the risk of complications to your future health. An annual review enables you to lead a normal and healthy life. We offer an annual diabetic assessment to check blood glucose control, kidney function, blood fats, weight, leg and foot assessment, eye assessment and lifestyle issues such as wellbeing, current treatment and to discuss any problems. Every six months baseline bloods should be checked.

Dr Muna Qureshi and nurses Sylvia Gray and Margaret Stubbs are specifically trained in diabetes care and run clinics on run clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays. For further information on diabetes visit

Family Planning

We provide a full range of family planning. Our Practice Nurses are trained in family planning and see patients by appointment. Dr Liesel Moffett runs a family planning clinic on a Tuesday morning, specifically for coil fitting and Implanon insertion. For more information on family planning visit

Healthcare Assistant

Our Healthcare Assistants offer daily appointments for pneumococcal and B12 injections, minor dressings, and new patient health checks. They offer appointments late morning/early afternoon for blood pressure monitoring and ECG’s.  They also offer NHS Healthchecks which are recommended - and free! - to anyone aged between 40 and 74.

If you need to have your blood pressure taken at the same time as a blood test, please make sure you book a 15 minute appointment. However, it is not recommended that you have blood pressure monitoring or an ECG at the same appointment as having a blood test as this could give a false reading due to the anxiety of having the blood test.
